Financial difficulties can be overwhelming for older people,
especially if they are dealing with other challenges such as; health
access, limited transportation, and rural isolation.
The
Senior Sense VISTA project is focused on developing innovative resources and services for Maine's
Seniors. Some of the issues our VISTA members are working on include:

Health Access for the uninsured and
under-served;
-
employment training and placement for
older adults;
-
minor home repair and support for
independent living;
-
personal financial management and
fraud prevention education;
-
Legal support for the elderly.
VISTAs with this 30 member project serve
across the state with community organizations focused meeting the needs
for Maine's Seniors. Previous and current VISTA placements include:
