The requirements of hosting a VISTA member vary slightly
depending on which project the position is under.
Specific host site requirements for both the
Senior Sense (SS) Project and the Communities
for Children and Youth (C4CY) VISTA Project can be found
below.
In general a host site is required to provide the
following:

Staff time to support VISTA member recruitment
and selection

Staff time for regular supervision and
support (similar to a new entry-level professional staff person)

A comprehensive work plan for achieving
anti-poverty outcomes

Adequate work space with ready access to the
resources to complete the tasks

On-the-job orientation
-
Reports (sometimes monthly, sometimes quarterly)

Cost Share
of $4,500
-
Cooperation in providing data to external
evaluators
-
Participation in project meetings (amount
varies from annual - quarterly)

Compliance with all federal guidance regarding
the administration of VISTA
